It was well worth the trip to see Stonehenge in person, and I was pleasantly surprised that the view was completely unobstructed even though you can't walk around and touch the actual stones. The barrier was only a low rope and we walked all around it listening to our free audio guides which had Frank laughing with the cheesy commentary.
In the afternoon, we picked up Juliet after work and had a fabulous pub lunch at The Tichborne Arms. After a lazy nap, we took a walk around her home town of Alresford (pronounced "alls-ford") and visited her amazing Granny, who is 100 years old and was still able to drive a golf ball 100 yards at her recent birthday party.
This evening we met up with Juliet's sister, Evelyn, and Evelyn's boyfriend, David, for dinner at Mumbai Spice for one of the best Indian dinners I've ever had.
Supposedly the weather is going to clear up tomorrow, and we're just planning to lay low in Winchester, helping Juliet pack for her upcoming trip to the Caribbean.
That's all for now!
NOTE: The Black Boy Inn is named for the local chimney sweeps - it's not racist!
Its a rally car! =)
ReplyDeleteIlana - thanks for clearing up the racism problem in England, haha...you guys describe things beautifully!
