Today we got up and were ready to explore again. After getting 10 people organized and in the cars it was around noon, then we headed toward the town of Saint Emilion with some planned stops at nearby vineyards. Saint Emilion is designated a UNESCO site with Roman churches and ruins about. There are vineyards scattered through the town, which I just read now that some were planted as early as the 2nd century A.D.

(As I waited for others to get ready I walked around the house and found this old army vehicle inside one of the barns. There is a second army vehicle under the tarp in the upper left hand corner of the picture.)
(One of the three horses that live at the house.)
(The crew outside the main church in Saint Emilion.)
(Inside the main portion of the church.)
(The cloister of the church.)
(A view of the church from a lower point in town. Part of the lower section is built into the rock.)
(The crew waiting outside the Tour du Roy (King's Castle). The Tour du Roy is the town's keep that was built in the 12th century and now can be climbed to view the town from the top of the tower.)
(View of the town from the top of the keep.)
(View from the top in another direction.)
(Walking through the cobble stoned street of Saint Emilion.)
(We stopped at a couple of vineyards. This one is the Chateau Pas de L'Ane.)
(Wine tasting.)
(Ilana took this picture during the drive back home. The road back to the highway wound through various vineyards, and this small town and church could be seen rising above the vines.)
When we got home and relaxed a bit we played a massive game of Sleuth. Sleuth is along the lines of Clue but takes much more concentration and deduction to find the missing card. Just in case anyone is looking for a good game along those lines I highly recommend it.
