We started the day with a nice breakfast with our friends who invited a few other people that we knew and had a great chance to catch up. Shortly thereafter we grabbed our trusty street map and headed out to see more of the city and the Asian Civilizations Museum.
After a quick ride on the MRT we saw St. Andrew's Cathedral.
Some court buildings.
And then to the museum, which was featuring pieces from the Forbidden City focused around the Kangxi Emperor (third emperor of the Qing Dynasty). Kangxi having reigned for 0ver 60 years holds the title of the longest reign in Chinese history. No photos were allowed in the museum but for a quick summary, Kangxi was one of the most visionary rulers in Chinese history and pioneered many progressive efforts of his time.

We wandered around a little more in the historic area before moving on.
We wanted to see the neighborhood of Chinatown before heading home for dinner and the evenings festivities and got to see a cool Buddhist temple (Thain Hock Keng Temple).

After a quick stop at home and a bite to eat we went to the zoo to see the shows of the night safari nearby.
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations which we never dreamed would occur when we woke up in the morning. I had one of those moments today. If anyone needs an explanation for this picture, please ask Ilana.
(If it's hard to make out, that is a 15-20 foot snake wrapped around my body)
I don't know how we can ever thank our friends here in Singapore enough. We were met with amazing hospitality and shown all the cool sites and excellent cuisines we would never have found on our own. Thank you all so very much for taking time and treating us like family. It really means a lot to us, truly.
