Day 31: Santiago, Chile

Our last day in Chile (and the last day in South America). We slept in before getting a start on checking out some other spots in Santiago. Our goals were to see the central market then onto the neighborhood of Bellavista with a stop at the house of a famous poet/politician Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda.

The market was a disappointment, even though the building itself was intereting to see. The problem being that we got bombarded by vendors trying to get us to eat at their restaurant that it made the sightseeing completely unbearable.

Pablo Neruda led an amazingly interesting life and his pad (now a museum) is pretty sweet compound. Made of three small houses, cool rooms and even a secret passageway to another floor.

Pretty much a mellow day as we now sit after checking out waiting for dinner time. We are leaving for our 14 hour flight to NZ soon where we land it's Monday! Our Sunday consists of a few hours in the air before we cross the international date line. Next stop NZ!
