We spent the morning and early afternoon just strolling around Helsinki before heading to the airport. Nothing major or newsworthy to report today. Helsinki was a random stop on our trip due to the round the world ticket we purchased. Since our ticket officially started in London, we wanted to get to Madrid without passing through London on our way back to Europe from Asia, as hitting London would end the flat rate airfare. So being that Finnair was in the alliance we chose to fly, Helsinki turned out to be the only European city we could hit to get to Madrid, without going through London. And there you have it.
Susie - the Pizza was mostly the same but did have some funky toppings. The people next to us had salmon & avocado on their pizza. I think kimchi was on the menu too.
Rudy - every time I heard "Great Wall" or "Mongolians" that South Park episode kept jumping into my head. Also the Chinese food usually mentions which different Chinese cuisine it makes (Sichuan, Cantonese, Peking Duck, etc).
Rick - the only good thing about the bathroom design in China is you immediately know if it's occupied but I agree with you fully. Also on the Philosopher's Pathway we contemplated what life would be like if we didn't have to work ever again. I decided that although vacationing and exploring is fun that I would need a bigger purpose in life. Deep stuff.
And just to have a picture in here from today. A random shot of a street in Helsinki.
